A surge in Skin Cleaning Products
Such warnings from FDA come because the coronavirus crisis has risen the demand of hand sanitizers all across the world. In March when this pandemic was at the height, there were a number of retailers including Costco wholesale corp., BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. and Kroger Co. KR reported that there is surge sale in skin cleaning products and some other merchandise used for sanitizing skin or surfaces.
People even have seen making their hand sanitizers. However, the US center for Disease Control and Prevention has stated washing hands with plain water and soap is the best way to tackle this COVID. Which created fuss all across the globe.
Above all the hand sanitizers need at least 60% alcohol, as this dissolves the lipid membrane and dislocates the interactions between viruses. But for this, you need to be fairly highly concentrated on the alcohol amount used in the sanitizers. This substance is the key ingredient in making sure that the virus or other harmful bacteria will no longer live. Though alcohol isn’t as good as the soap can do the job for this virus. This is what professors, researchers and other health care professionally doing deep research on this virus have stated.
In this manner, FDA always played their role vigilantly which shows their interest in the better health facilities. Provided to human beings so they can enjoy the best in this critical situation? And they will continue to take maximum action when quality issues arise with any health-related issues; whether it is for food, water, or hand sanitizers.
Moreover, this FDA is been wholeheartedly concerned with misleading and fake claims for hand sanitizers; for instance, they can give you prolonged protection for let’s say 24 hours against viruses like corona is purely wrong. Because there is medically no proof that supports such claims. So be aware of these advertisement tactics that used such time to raise their revenue by making people fool.
Till the date, its June 23rd 2020 FDA is not aware of any reports connected with adverse happening with these sanitizer products. But FDA is the one encouraging health care professionals, users and patients, and the ones who get recovered from this disease. Because if they report any poor effect experienced using hand sanitizer on MedWatch Adverse Event programming.
